Locomotora consists of Juha Pippola, Juho Piirto, Arttu Äikäs, Jussi Heinonen and Antti Ylä-Rotiala, five old friends located in Tampere, Finland. The band uses three guitars, bass, drums and some occasional keys to create instrumental music that is influenced by post-rock, ambient, experimental, minimal and various other styles of music. They build huge, beautiful crescendos with repetition and layering of melodies and rhythyms. Locomotora’s self titled debut album is released in November 2009.
Locomotora are doing a Baltic tour in November 2009 (26.11. Tallinn, 27.11. Narva and 28.11. Riga) and also have plans for a wider European tour in spring 2010 and some gigs in Finland also.
