Welcome to Sordo Recordings, a free internet record label.

20th November 2008:
From Nick by To Sarah, a personal project ambient/experimental music intended as a birthday gift, has been released through Sordo Recordings to allow more people to hear the lovely music it contains. You can download it as 320kbps MP3s downloaded in a 39MB RAR archive.

8th November 2008:
Max Alper's second full-length album, Stop, is now available through Sordo Recordings. It features structured improvistations by Max and guests, with particular focus on the piano. It can be downloaded as a 46MB RAR archive.

Also, AIR IN KYOTO's recent release, "Take Heart, Blind Beast" E.P., has received a favourable review by Bennett's Blog:

"...this is gloomy, almost apocalyptic stuff, the fuzzy electric layers underminded by the fragility of the acoustic, and is ultimately refreshing in a time where ‘noise’ most often means a sonic barrage."

19th October 2008:
Album art for "Take Heart, Blind Beast" E.P.

AIR IN KYOTO's "Take Heart, Blind Beast" E.P. breaks the drought of no recent Sordo releases. It may be only 12 minutes in length, but in that short time, fractured soundscapes and the occasional glitches are brought to life around somber acoustic riffs, resulting in two layered yet minimalist tracks.

17th July 2008:
1000 Travels Today sees the release of 1000 Travels, a split EP of pop-flecked acoustic folk from Syndicate X & Kings and Birds, with both sides featuring sincere songs ranging from downhearted ballads to cheerful sing-a-longs.

Download this split, or listen/see more information.

13th July 2008:
It seems that the Sordo Recordings releases have at least caught the attention of a few people. Some favourable reviews have been made on a couple of the albums...

Soul of the Phoenix's Release the Drones received a 4/5 review [PDF, see page 12] from Ireland's Connected Magazine. Compare this to the 0/5 rating that Coldplay's new album received in the same issue...

Also, emFrik's Respite has been reviewed in the blogs Some Kind of Kink and Grindthieves, being described as a "musical storm" and a "diamond of tasty audio delights," respectively.

If you find any more reviews, please tell me!
